I specialize in fretwork on electric, acoustic and bass guitar. My services include general guitar repair and set up but my main focus is fret replacement and fret leveling.
I use Jescar brand fretwire. It's very good quality fretwire and it comes in Nickle Silver, Gold EVO and Stainless Steel. There is an upcharge for the Gold EVO and Stainless but the wear factor is worth the investment.
Most new guitars and aftermarket necks have not had the frets leveled at the factory. It makes a huge difference in tone and playability to have it set up properly.
I'm a retired machinist with 35 years experience in the trade. I served my apprenticeship at NASA and spent most of my career at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and have been building and repairing guitars for most of my adult life.
Turn around time is usually 3 to 4 days for a complete fret job. If you're going to be without a guitar for that time I'll give you a loaner to use while I'm working on yours.
